CLEVELAND (AP) -The agent for center Zydrunas Ilgauskas believes a deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers will be struck by the end of the day.
Agent Herb Rudoy says he has spoken a couple of times today with Cavaliers GM Danny Ferry. Rudoy believes a deal will be completed “for sure” and that he is hopeful it will be done this evening. The two sides are not far apart, he says, and the goal is to have Ilgauskas on the plane Tuesday night for Cleveland’s upcoming road trip to New Orleans and San Antonio.
Cleveland dealt Ilgauskas to Washington at the trade deadline in a three-team deal that brought Antawn Jamison and Sebastian Telfair to the Cavaliers. Monday is the first day he is eligible to re-sign with the Cavaliers under league rules.
