OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -Jamal Crawford is missing his third straight game for the Golden State Warriors after asking for more practice time before he returns from two straight benchings.
Warriors coach Don Nelson sat the healthy veteran guard for both of Golden State’s games earlier this week as part of his unorthodox plan to give more playing time to his youngsters. Nelson wanted Crawford back for Friday night’s game against Philadelphia, but Crawford says he didn’t think he was ready to jump back into action.
Crawford and Nelson claim they’re still on civil terms, but Nelson’s plan to arbitrarily rest Crawford, Stephen Jackson and Corey Maggette has drawn criticism from Crawford’s agent, among others.
