MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -Minnesota guard Randy Foye was carried to the locker room Monday night in the fourth quarter of the Timberwolves’ game against Washington with an apparent leg injury.
Foye tried to leap to catch a high lob pass from Mike Miller on a two-on-one and crumpled when the pass sailed over his arms. He appeared to grab his right ankle, but there was no immediate word on the nature of the injury.
Losing Foye for any stretch would be devastating for a Timberwolves team that already is without star center Al Jefferson, who was lost just before the All-Star break with a torn ACL.
Foye is the team’s second-leading scorer, averaging 16.9 points.
