DENVER (AP) -Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin was ruled out of Sunday night’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers because of continuing left knee soreness.
Concerns about the injury have led to a scheduled consultation Monday with doctors to determine its severity and further treatment options.
Martin has been playing through persistent pain and swelling in the knee in the last few weeks but the condition, which the team has described as chronic patella tendinitis, apparently has worsened in recent days.
Martin, who missed his second consecutive game, underwent an MRI late last week and doctors spent the weekend reviewing the results in advance of their meeting with Martin on Monday.
