NEW YORK (AP) -Demetris Nichols signed a 10-day contract with the New York Knicks on Friday, rejoining the team he played for during the 2007 preseason.
Nichols was picked by Portland in the second round of the 2007 draft and immediately traded to New York. He appeared in five exhibition games before the Knicks waived him.
The swingman from Syracuse went on to play for Cleveland and Chicago and averaged 1.1 points in 16 career games.
Nichols was playing for Iowa of the NBA Development League, averaging 20.3 points.
