MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -Sebastian Telfair is planning on returning to the lineup of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The point guard missed the past two games because of a sore groin muscle, but he practiced fully Thursday and pronounced himself fit to return to the court Friday in Los Angeles to face the Lakers.
The Timberwolves (18-42) also face the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday.
Coach Kevin McHale ended Thursday’s practice by imploring his downtrodden team to focus on effort rather than result against the league-leading Lakers. The Wolves have lost seven straight games.
The Wolves’ 24-point loss to the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday prompted an exasperated response from their coach and veteran players.
Two days later, McHale was still calling the performance “unacceptable” and “embarrassing” for its lack of motivation.
