MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -Al Jefferson stopped by the Minnesota Timberwolves’ practice Wednesday to provide a lift to a team that has looked lost without him.
Jefferson is out for the season with a torn ACL in his right knee. The team is 1-9 without their star center, and things have only gotten worse lately.
The Timberwolves trailed by 31 points in the first half of a 26-point loss to the lowly Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night. Coach Kevin McHale says it was the worst performance he’s seen since taking over as coach.
So the team brought Jefferson in to watch practice and give the guys a pep talk.
Jefferson declined comment, but rookie Kevin Love said his presence lifted spirits during a hard practice.
