HOUSTON (AP) -The Houston Rockets signed James White to a 10-day contract on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-7 White was averaging 25.9 points, five rebounds and 2.5 assists in 34 games for the Anaheim Arsenal of the NBA’s D-league.
White was originally taken by Portland in the second round of the 2006 NBA draft, then had his draft rights sent to Indiana. He averaged 3.8 points and 2.0 rebounds in eight preseason games with the Pacers before being released prior to the 2006-07 regular season.
White signed with San Antonio in November 2006 and was assigned to the D-League’s Austin Toros a month later. He was recalled twice by the Spurs and averaged 8.3 points and 3.3 rebounds six career games with San Antonio. He also briefly played in Turkey.
