MIAMI (AP) – Michael Beasley is back with the Miami Heat, for a third time.
The team’s No. 2 pick from the 2008 draft signed a 10-day contract on Thursday, and was expected to practice with the team later in the day in New Orleans.
Beasley spent his first two pro seasons with the Heat, then returned to Miami last season. He spent the bulk of this season in China, scored 59 points in an All-Star game there and has been working out in Miami for several days.
Beasley has averaged 13.2 points in his first 409 NBA games with the Heat, Phoenix and Minnesota.
The 6-foot-10 forward will help the Heat on the depth front, now that Chris Bosh is out for the season because of blood clots on a lung.
