NEW YORK (AP) – A person with knowledge of the situation says the Brooklyn Nets plan to sign Thomas Robinson once he clears waivers.
Robinson was waived Sunday by the Denver Nuggets, who had acquired him from Portland on Thursday at the trade deadline. The former No. 5 overall pick would likely sign Wednesday if no team claims him, the person tells The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because no moves can become official until after the waiver process is completed.
Robinson wrote on Twitter on Monday: ”All thanks to GOD ! Thank you Brooklyn.”
The Nets’ plans were first reported by Yahoo Sports.
