CLEVELAND (AP) -General manager Danny Ferry’s creative moves and owner Dan Gilbert’s wallet have turned over the Cavaliers’ roster in an attempt to give LeBron James plenty of reasons to remain in Cleveland beyond this season.
Gilbert spent five days with James last summer at a business conference in Idaho. The pair spent a lot of time talking about life, philosophy and business, but they didn’t talk about James’ future in Cleveland. Gilbert has done all he can to persuade James to stay, including opening his checkbook again for Antawn Jamison.
Now he has to hope it’s enough to keep his superstar.
