CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Dallas Mavericks center Dirk Nowitzki hobbled to the locker room with a sprained left ankle in the second quarter against the Charlotte Bobcats. The Mavericks say his return is questionable.
The injury occurred Tuesday night when Nowitzki appeared to roll his ankle when he stepped on the ankle of Charlotte's Josh McRoberts with 9:22 remaining in the first half. Dallas was losing by 10 at the time.
Nowitzki scored just two points in 10 minutes of action before leaving the court under his own power, with a slight limp.
The 35-year-old Nowitzki is 16-0 in career games against the Bobcats, averaging 26.1 points per game.
