BOSTON (AP) -Paul Pierce is playing for the Boston Celtics against the Orlando Magic after missing two games with a foot injury.
The team’s leading scorer was back in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game. Backup guard Marquis Daniels also was in uniform after sitting out 29 games following surgery for a torn ligament in his left thumb.
Pierce, averaging 18.9 points, suffered a strain on the top of his left foot in Monday night’s 99-88 win at the Washington Wizards. He watched in street clothes from the bench as the Celtics won their next two games, 107-102 over the Miami Heat and 96-87 over the New Jersey Nets.
