MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -Memphis Grizzlies forward Rudy Gay was expected to miss Saturday night’s game against the Toronto Raptors with a left hip flexor.
Gay had dealt with the injury for several games, but aggravated it in Friday’s 126-105 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Gay, in his third season out of Connecticut, is the team’s second-leading scorer and rebounder, averaging 18.8 points and 5.7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, the Raptors continue to be without leading scorer and rebounder Chris Bosh, who missed his second game with a sprained right knee.
Bosh, who averages 22.7 points and 9.5 rebounds, left Wednesday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers with 8:50 left in the fourth quarter.
Both Gay and Bosh were on the active list, but did not dress.
