WASHINGTON (AP) -Washington Wizards forward Caron Butler was out of the lineup for Wednesday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs with a strained hip flexor.
Butler, who left Tuesday’s game in Philadelphia after his hip began hurting, was playing just his second game after missing three with the same injury.
“Caron is going to be out. He’s going to be day-to-day after that,” Wizards coach Eddie Jordan said. “There’s no real damage there. It’s just sore.”
Jordan said that Butler would accompany the Wizards on the four-game trip that begins Friday in Denver. Andray Blatche started in Butler’s place.
Washington is 7-23 in games that Butler has missed since joining the team for the 2005-2006 season.
