DENVER (AP) -Nuggets All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony’s sprained left ankle sidelined him for a sixth straight game Wednesday night against the Phoenix Suns.
Chauncey Billups was in Denver’s lineup despite spraining his left ankle against Sacramento on Monday night.
Anthony injured his ankle Jan. 23 against New Orleans. He is averaging 29.7 points, tying him with Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant for the league lead.
Before the game, Billups was selected to the All-Star squad for a fifth straight year. He replaces injured New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul, who will have knee surgery Thursday.
