CLEVELAND (AP) -The flu bug has bitten the Cleveland Cavaliers hard.
The team was without starting swingman Sasha Pavlovic, reserve center Lorenzen Wright and longtime play-by-play announcer Joe Tait for Tuesday night’s game against the Toronto Raptors.
Wally Szczerbiak made his first start this season in place of Pavlovic, who moved into the starting lineup on Jan. 16 after guard Delonte West broke his wrist. Szczerbiak made two 3-pointers in the first few minutes as the Cavaliers, who have won 22 straight at home, jumped to an early lead on the Raptors.
Tait, who is in his 37th season calling Cleveland games, had not missed a broadcast since Dec. 6, 2000.
Also, Cavs coach Mike Brown missed practice on Monday with a nasty head cold he has been battling for several days.
