PHILADELPHIA (AP) -Samuel Dalembert played in his 236th straight game for the Philadelphia 76ers, a day after he sprained his left ankle.
Dalembert spent several minutes running and testing the ankle before Saturday’s game against the New Jersey Nets. The Sixers center said he felt better because of steady treatment after he was injured in a win against Washington on Friday.
Dalembert’s return meant the Sixers brought Elton Brand off the bench for the fifth straight game. Coach Tony DiLeo said Brand would start if Dalembert was unable to play. Brand hasn’t started since he returned from a separated shoulder.
Dalembert’s consecutive games streak is the fifth-longest in the NBA.
