NEW YORK (AP) -The Knicks assured center Eddy Curry “to take the time that he needs” as he copes with the death of his former girlfriend and mother of his 3-year-old son, team president Donnie Walsh said Monday.
A relative found the bodies of Nova Henry, 24, and her 9-month-old daughter, Ava, in their Chicago apartment Saturday evening, according to police. Both died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Curry’s son was found unharmed at the scene.
Curry was not with the team for its game Monday against the Houston Rockets.
“I told him we all were praying for him, that it’s a very difficult thing to go through and that the franchise supports him and will help him in any way we can,” Walsh said.
