CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -Charlotte Bobcats starting guard Raymond Felton did not dress for Saturday’s game against Philadelphia because of a sprained left ankle.
Felton said the ankle has been bothering him since the preseason, and he rolled it again in the first quarter of Friday’s win over Chicago.
“Playing on it last night didn’t help it,” Felton said. “That’s why I’m sitting out tonight.”
While coach Sam Vincent targeted Wednesday’s game in Sacramento as Felton’s likely return date, Felton said he would push hard to play on Monday against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Matt Carroll replaced Felton in the starting lineup Saturday, with Jeff McInnis serving as the primary point guard.
Felton is averaging 13.4 points and a team-best 7.1 assists per game.
