MIAMI (AP) -Heat forward Shawn Marion did not play in Miami’s game against the Orlando Magic on Saturday night because of a strained left groin.
Marion missed Sunday’s game at Oklahoma City with the same problem, then tried to play Wednesday against the Boston Celtics – but left that game after only 8 minutes. He didn’t practice on Friday, was held out of the Heat shootaround practice Saturday morning, and treatment during the day couldn’t solve the problem.
Marion – the subject of numerous trade rumors in recent weeks – is averaging 12 points and a team-best nine rebounds for Miami this season.
