Not long ago, Larry Sanders had no idea where he was going.
The NBA lockout had him contemplating playing in Europe, and the raw former first-round draft pick was having trouble finding a place on the Milwaukee Bucks roster. His future grew even more uncertain after last year when the Bucks brought in John Henson and Samuel Dalembert to serve as the main big men in the middle.
Now in his third season, he has emerged as one of the most improved players in the league. The 6-foot-11 Sanders leads the NBA in blocked shots at almost 3.2 per game and is also averaging career bests in field goal percentage, points and rebounds.
The underdog has become a fan favorite in Milwaukee, where the Bucks are pushing for the playoffs.
