INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -Houston’s Ron Artest and Tracy McGrady were sidelined for Friday night’s game against the Indiana Pacers with injuries.
McGrady missed his 16th game this season with a sore left knee. He sat out the second game of Houston’s past four back-to-back sets and hasn’t played since Jan. 9.
Artest has missed 13 games this season with a bone bruise in his right ankle, an injury he suffered in a Nov. 17 game in Oklahoma City. He tried to play through it, but aggravated it and finally decided to sit out until it healed.
It was the fourth time Artest has missed an opportunity to play the Pacers since Indiana traded him in 2006.
Artest said before the game that he’s unsure when he’ll return.
Houston has won three in a row and four of five without the tandem.
