NEW ORLEANS (AP) -Hornets starting forward David West sat out New Orleans' game against the Indiana Pacers with back spasms Monday.
Shawn Marks started in West's spot. It was the first start of the season for Marks, who has appeared in 18 previous games, averaging 1.8 points and 2 rebounds.
West, sitting out his first game this season, averaged 20 points and 7.1 rebounds through the Hornets' first 37 games. Coach Byron Scott said West could also miss Wednesday night's home game against New Jersey.
