The Miami Heat have their sights set on repeating last season's championship run by returning the same core players from a year ago. The Chicago Bulls hope a few key offseason additions can help them challenge for their first NBA title in nine seasons.

The Heat begin their defense of the franchise's first championship when they host the Bulls Tuesday in a rematch of last season's Eastern Conference first-round playoff series.

Flyers GM Resigns, Coach Fired After Worst Start in 15 Years

Flyers general manager Bob Clarke resigned and coach Ken Hitchcock was fired in a dramatic shakeup Sunday, with Philadelphia off to its worst start in more than 15 years.

Assistant John Stevens will become head coach, and assistant general manager Paul Holmgren will be the interim general manager, trying to become the latest combination to end their 31-year Stanley Cup drought.

The Flyers are 1-6-1 and have the fewest points in the NHL.

``The decisions that had to be made, I was letting other people make them,'' said Clarke, acknowledging he was burned out. ``I deeply regret not being able to bring a Stanley Cup here. ... I didn't deliver.''

Lebron James scored 13 points Wednesday night as Team USA defeated Dirk Nowitski and Team Germany 85-65 to advance to the semi-finals. The victory keeps the USA unbeaten at 7-0 and they remain one of only four unbeaten teams.

Nowitski was really never a factor, especially in the second half where he missed nine of his twelve shot attempts. The USA was able to hold Germany to only 26 second half points on their way to the impressive win.
