Warriors Frustrate Nowitzki

Dirk Nowitzki is tall enough to shoot over almost anyone. He's accurate enough to shoot from almost anywhere.

Yet surround him with a bunch of pesky defenders and the big German struggles. Case in point: Game 1 of the playoffs against Golden State.

With a variety of guys between 6-foot-3 and 6-9 charging at and swarming around the 7-footer, Nowitzki had one of his worst games of the season.

Wizards Must Stop Ilgauskas

At the mall or at the movies, Cavaliers 7-foot-3 center Zydrunas Ilgauskas stands out in a crowd.

On the court, he's still tough to miss, the biggest of the big men in the middle. But for some strange reason, the Washington Wizards couldn't find him in Game 1 - until it was too late.

With a huge size advantage down low, Ilgauskas scored 11 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter when Cleveland beat Washington 97-82 in the first-round playoff series opener.

The Phoenix Suns know they shouldn't be too comfortable going into Tuesday night's Game 2 of their first-round playoff series against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Suns won the opener of the best-of-seven series, but they've been here before.

A year ago, Phoenix won Game 1 against the Lakers, then lost the next three and needed seven games to put away Kobe & Co.

Luol Deng expects the adjustments to be as subtle as some of the hard fouls the teams have exchanged in recent seasons.

He knows the Miami Heat have to do something.

The defending champions had two days to digest what happened in Game 1 Saturday, when Deng scored 33 points to lead the Chicago Bulls to a 96-91 victory.
