Pistons vs. Celtics Pick
Are the Detroit Pistons going to cover the spread as an underdog tonight when they play at the Boston Celtics? Tip-off is at 7:30PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Celtics are a 7-point favorite on the spread line. The total is set at 200 points.
Detroit comes in with a 12-6 overall record and 12-5-1 ATS after a 99-98 victory at the Thunder. Boston is 18-3 overall and 17-3-1 ATS following a 108-98 win at the Pacers. The Celctics went 3-1 straight up and 2-2 ATS in four meetings last season. The over-under went 2-2.
The Pistons were led by Andre Drummond with 17 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks in the win at OKC. Ish Smith had 15 points and four assists off the bench. Tobias Harris added 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Detroit overcame a 15-point deficit and outscored the Thunder 50-39 in the second half.
Kyrie Irving had 25 points, six assists and four rebounds in the victory at Indiana. Al Horford contributed 21 points, six assists, five boards and three blocks. Terry Rozier added 17 points and two rebounds off the bench. The Celtics trailed by nine at halftime, but outscored the hosts 37-16 in the third quarter.
Detroit is 4-1 in its last five meetings in Boston. The over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings in Boston.
Detroit showed its resiliency at OKC and now gets to stay on the road for another challenge at the red-hot Boston Celtics. We like the Pistons to cover here. Drummond should be motivated to have another big game and has the physical presence to overwhelm the Celtics in the interior. Shooting guard Avery Bradley will be motivated after being traded from Boston to the Pistons over the summer.
