Rockets’ eight-game win streak snapped
Houston lost by a score of 105-95 Wednesday night at Denver to drop to 11-4 overall nad 5-3 on the road. The Rockets were outscored 51-44 in the second half of the defeat. James Harden paced Houston with 27 points on 8-of-16 shooting including 4-of-8 from 3-point range plus 7-of-10 at the free throw line. He also registered seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Russell Westbrook had 25 points, five assists and two boards. Clint Capela added 12 points and 21 caroms.
Clippers down Celtics in OT
Los Angeles bounced back from a game-tying 3-pointer at the end of regulation by Boston Wednesday night to secure a 107-104 home win in overtime. The Clippers (10-5, 9-1 home) outscored the Celtics 28-22 in the fourth quarter and 10-7 in the extra session. NBA Betting Trends
Houston
The Rockets are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games versus the Pacific Division. Houston is 4-1 ATS in its last five games overall.
Los Angeles
The Clippers are 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. Los Angeles is 0-4 ATS in its last four Friday games.
Prediction:
While the Clippers work out the rough patches in George and Leonard co-existing on the court, it is still a scary good team. Los Angeles can bring reinforcements off the bench at any given moment and can mold its lineup to fit in so many different ways. Despite not playing all that great two nights ago, the Clippers still got past the Celtics. With more time to identify where improvements need to be made, I think a more impressive performance is in store tonight. I’m giving the points here and taking LA to cover.
