Nets vs. Clippers Prediction
The Los Angeles Clippers look to dominate the Brooklyn Nets when they host them tonight at 10:30PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Clippers are a heavy favorite at home tonight, as they are getting odds of -14.5 points against the Nets. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 214.5 points. The Clippers have won the last two games in this series, but the Nets are 8-1 against the spread in their last 9 against the Clippers.
The Clippers are one of the best in the league thus far, as they are 9-1 on the season with an 8-2 mark against the spread. Both failed covers actually came against the Thunder this year, while all other wins have been by at least 8 points. L.A. is averaging 107 points per game on the season while giving up just 91.9 points per game. They currently rank 10th in the league in offense and first in scoring defense. Blake Griffin is leading the charge with 20.2 points and 9.8 rebounds per game while Chris Paul is averaging 19 points and 8.5 assists.
Brooklyn is coming off a 122-104 win at Phoenix on Saturday to move to 4-5 on the season. However, the Nets are an impressive 7-2 against the spread on the year. While Brooklyn is putting up 106.3 points per game on offense, they are giving up 107.6 points per contest, which ranks 21st in the league. Jeremy Lin continues to be out with a hamstring injury and likely won’t be back this week. Lin was averaging 15 points and 6.2 assists per game before his injury. Brook Lopez is leading the team with 19.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.

While the Nets can score, I think they will struggle tonight against the Clippers. Lopez should have some difficulty against the combo of Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. Meanwhile, the Clippers will score at ease against this Brooklyn defense. Look for the Clippers to roll along on their hot start.
