Clippers vs. Thunder Prediction
Can the Los Angeles Clippers continue their strong 2016-17 campaign when they hit the road to face the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight at 8PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Clippers are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -5 points against the Thunder tonight. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 205 points. Oklahoma City has won three straight in this series, but the Clippers are 4-2 against the spread in the last six meetings.
The Clippers are rolling right now, as they are off to a 7-1 start. They have won four straight, all by double figures, as they are also 7-1 against the spread. Interestingly enough, the lone loss this year is to Oklahoma City. The Thunder picked up an 85-83 win in L.A. back on Nov. 2. The Los Angeles defense currently ranks No. 1 in the NBA, as they are giving up just 88.3 points per game. Offensively, Los Angeles is posting 105.1 points per contest. Blake Griffin is leading the way with 19.6 points and 10.1 rebounds per game.
Oklahoma City is coming off a 112-102 loss at home to Toronto on Wednesday. The Thunder are now 6-2 on the season and 4-4 against the spread. Their two losses have come against the Warriors and Raptors. This year, OKC is averaging 102.6 points per game on offense while giving up 99.6 points per contest. Despite the loss of Kevin Durant to the Warriors, OKC is still playing at a high level. Russell Westbrook is putting up 31.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 9.5 assists per game.

Oklahoma City is not accustomed to being a home underdog. While the Clippers may have motivation to step their game up due to a previous loss to this team, but Los Angeles still has a lot to prove about winning big games on the road. Oklahoma City has only been beaten by the best. While the Clippers could be the best, I still like a team of OKC’s caliber at home.
