Timberwolves vs. Nets Prediction
The Minnesota Timberwolves find themselves as a road favorite today when they take on the Brooklyn Nets at 7:30PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Timberwolves are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -4 points against the Nets. The over/under total for the game is listed at 205.5 points. The Timberwolves have won and covered in three of their last four meetings with the Nets, including two trips to Brooklyn.
The Timberwolves are just 1-4 on the year, going 1-4 against the spread. They are also 0-3 on the road, failing to cover in any of the games. They were a 1.5-point favorite at Memphis to open the season and ended up with a 102-98 loss. Despite being 1-4 on the year, they are actually averaging more points (101.6 ppg) than they are giving up (100.4). Ricky Rubio continues to be out for Minnesota, dealing with a sprained elbow.
The Nets are just 2-4 on the season, but an impressive 5-1 against the spread this year, including a 3-1 record ATS at home. Brooklyn has been struggling mightily on defense, giving up 107.3 points per game. That currently ranks 21st in the league. Offensively, Brooklyn is putting up 103.3 points per game. The Nets are dealing with a lot of injuries as PG Jeremy Lin is out for a few weeks with a hamstring injury while backup Greivis Vasquez is also out with an ankle injury.

The injuries at the point guard position could be the issue for Brooklyn, but it still had 20 assists as a team for their last game with the Hornets. Brooklyn has been good enough to be competitive for most of the season. Giving them four points against a 1-5 team at home seems to be a poor decision. The Timberwolves have the talent on paper, but haven’t been able to figure out the right formula yet.
