Nuggets vs. Grizzlies Prediction
The Denver Nuggets look to continue to cover on the road when they face the Memphis Grizzlies tonight at 8PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Grizzlies are favored at home tonight, as they are getting odds of -3 points against the Nuggets. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 200.5 points. Memphis has been pretty dominant over Denver in recent history, winning five of the last six in this series. However, Denver is 6-3 against the spread in these last nine meetings.
Memphis is 3-4 on the season and 3-4 against the spread. They have dropped back-to-back games at home, failing to cover in either contest. Memphis is 3-2 against the spread at home on the season. However, the Grizzlies have been tough to count on offensively, posting just 95.6 points per game on the season. That currently ranks 27th in the league. Defensively, Memphis is pretty good, holding opponents to only 101.4 points per game, but the offense has to improve. They have some major injury concerns for tonight as Mike Conley (hamstring) and Tony Allen (hip) are both questionable. Conley is putting up a team-high 20.8 points and 6.7 assists per game this season while Allen is averaging 5.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
Denver comes into today at 3-3 on the season following a 123-107 win at Boston on Sunday. The Nuggets have already played five of six games on the road, going 4-1 against the spread in those games. They have yet to be favored in a game this year as well. Denver has an offense putting up 105.5 points per game and a defense giving up 105.2 yards per contest. Like Memphis, Denver also has some injury concerns. Will Barton has played in just three games, averaging 18 points in those contests. He is out with an ankle injury. Wilson Chandler is averaging 15.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game, but he is questionable with a hamstring injury.

The Nuggets can score. While it is possible they could go cold, I don’t see them being cold enough to play down to the Grizzlies’ offense, which could be without their leading scorer in Conley. Even without Barton and Chandler, Denver has more offensive weapons and play to a style to out-score you. That should work out well against a hampered Memphis team.
