Hawks edged by Sixers
Atlanta lost by a count of 105-103 at home Monday night versus Philadelphia to drop to 2-1 overall and 1-1 at home. Trae Young led the Hawks with 25 points on 7-of-20 shooting including 2-of-5 from 3-point range plus 9-of-10 at the free throw line. He also registered nine assists and four rebounds. John Collins tallied 16 points and eight boards. De’Andre Hunter had 14 points and nine caroms. Bruno Fernando added 11 points, four rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots off the bench. Atlanta was outscored 42-38 in the second half of the loss.
Butler set to make Heat debut
After missing the first three games of the season due to the birth of his child, Jimmy Butler is set to make his Miami debut tonight. The Heat went 2-1 in his absence and 1-1 on the road after a 116-109 loss Sunday night at Minnesota. Kendrick Nunn led Miami with 25 points on 9-of-17 shooting including 5-of-9 from 3-point range plus 2-of-2 at the free throw line. He also notched four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Duncan Robinson accounted for 21 points off the bench plus two boards and two blocked shots. Justise Winslow had 20 points, eight caroms, six dimes and two blocks. Bam Adebayo accounted for 13 points, nine rebounds, five assists, three blocked shots and two steals. Goran Dragic added 13 points, five boards and four assists as a reserve. The Heat were outscored 39-25 in the fourth quarter of the defeat.
NBA Betting Trends
Atlanta
The Hawks are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 road games. Atlanta is 19-7 ATS in its last 26 games overall.
Miami
The Heat are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games overall. Miami is 2-9 ATS in its last 11 Tuesday games.
Prediction:
The Hawks put in a good effort last night but came up short and now have the quick turnaround against a Heat team that will be back at full strength. I expect the Hawks to falter as the game progresses as a Heat team that looked pretty good most of the team without Butler looks to seamlessly transition to having their star back in the lineup.
