According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Lakers have odds of 4/5 to win the Western Conference. Other short odds to win are the Oklahoma City Thunder (9/5) and the San Antonio Spurs (6/1).

The Lakers lost in the Western Conference semifinals last year to the Thunder, but in the offseason, the Lakers added Steve Nash and Dwight Howard to the already stacked roster, led by Kobe Bryant. The Lakers have won 32 conference titles in franchise history.

The Oklahoma City Thunder won the Western Conference title last year. Oklahoma City reached the finals for the first time in franchise history and are led by Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. Oklahoma City just traded one of its key pieces from last season, James Harden, to the Rockets in exchange for a handful of players, including Kevin Martin.

The Spurs lost in the Western Conference finals to the Thunder last year. The Spurs have won the conference title four times in franchise history, with the last title coming in 2007. The Spurs have kept intact the core of their team, led by Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili.
