2013-14 NBA MVP Odds


(TheSpread) – The 2013-14 NBA Season will begin in a little over 24 hours. Here is a look at the odds to win this season’s MVP honor.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Miami’s LeBron James is the favorite to win the award again, as he has 3/2 odds. Other short odds to win are Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant (4/1) and Chicago’s Derrick Rose (11/2).

James is a four-time NBA MVP award winner and he has won the award the last two seasons. He also won the honor in the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons. James has averaged over 26 points 7.5 rebounds and 6.2 assists in the last three seasons in Miami.

Kevin Durant has never won the award but he has led the league in scoring in three of the last four seasons. He is arguably the top shooter in the league and will be looked at to take Oklahoma City to the NBA Finals this season. Durant has averaged at least 27. Points per game the last four seasons.

Rose won this award in the 2010-11 season. Rose is returning to Chicago after missing all of last season with a knee injury he suffered in the 2012 playoffs. Rose averaged 21.8 points, 7.9 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game in the 2011-12 season.
