The 35-year-old Finley started 61 games last season, with sixth man award winner Manu Ginobili providing a spark for San Antonio behind him. Finley averaged 10.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists, playing in all 82 games in his 13th NBA season. He shot 37 percent from 3-point range.
Oddsmakers love the San Antonio Spurs yet again this season. Oddsmakers from online sports book SBG Global have made the Spurs’ odds 10/1 to win the 2009 NBA Finals.
Finley isn’t a starter in San Antonio, but he provides the team with outstanding depth. One of the reasons the Spurs have done so well over the years is because of their bench and re-signing Finely insures that the team will once again have a solid depth.
In his second season with San Antonio in 2007, Finley was part of the team’s run to a fourth title in nine seasons.
