Rose plays in United Center
CHICAGO (TheSpread) – After another season-ending injury in 2014-15, Derrick Rose stepped on the floor in the United Center for a basketball game on Saturday.
Rose played in an exhibition game for Team USA in its 95-78 win over Brazil on Saturday. Fans at the United Center gave Rose a big cheer and were looking to see how he responded to playing since tearing the meniscus in his right knee last November.
“I’m playing the way I normally play in the trials,” Rose told ESPN’s Nick Friedell. “Push the ball, play defense and get guys shots. When the shot is available, take the shot, and I think that’s what I did tonight. I had one or two turnovers, but that could easily be changed.”
Rose had seven points in 24 minutes on Saturday, but has only played in 10 games over the last two seasons and has yet to play a full 82 games in his NBA career. The Bulls have big expectations this year with the addition of Pau Gasol, but the former NBA MVP, Rose, will need to be healthy for those expectations to come true.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Chicago Bulls have 11/2 odds to win the NBA Finals in 2015. Cleveland is the favorite to win it all with 5/2 odds, while the San Antonio Spurs have 4/1 odds.
