Cavaliers land Kevin Love
CLEVELAND, OH (TheSpread) – The Cleveland Cavaliers are trying to create a Big 3 of their own, agreeing to a trade for Minnesota forward Kevin Love.
Yahoo! Sports was the first to report the trade that will be sending Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett and a future first-round pick to Minnesota for Kevin Love. Love has also reportedly agreed to a contract extension with the Cavaliers. The trade can’t take place until August 23 because the Cavaliers signed Wiggins to a contract, keeping him from being traded for 30 days.
Love gives Cleveland a real inside presence in scoring and on the glass. He averaged 26.1 points and 12.5 rebounds per game last season for Minnesota and is averaging 19.2 points and 12.2 rebounds per game over his six-year career. Love has failed to averaged less than 12.5 rebounds per game over a season for the last four years. Love can also shoot well, hitting 36.2 percent of his 3-point shots over his career and 81.5 percent of his free throws.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Cavaliers are favored to win the NBA Finals this season, as they have 5/2 odds to do so. Other short odds to win are the San Antonio Spurs (4/1) and the Chicago Bulls (11/2).
