Clevleand signs Wiggins
CLEVELAND, OH (TheSpread) – The Cleveland Cavaliers reached an agreement with No. 1 pick Andrew Wiggins on Thursday, keeping him with the team for at least the next month.
Wiggins has been the subject of trade discussions since LeBron James signed back with his hometown team. Cleveland has been attempting to land Kevin Love from Minnesota, with the Timberwolves looking to get Wiggins as one of the players in return.
With both sides struggling to come to an agreement, Cleveland signed Wiggins to a four-year deal with a starting salary of $5.5 million. Wiggins now can’t be traded for 30 days because of the contract signing.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Cavaliers are favored to win the NBA Finals, as they have 3/1 odds. Other short odds to win are the San Antonio Spurs (9/2) and the Oklahoma City Thunder (13/2).
