Spurs bring back Diaw
SAN ANTONIO, TX (TheSpread) – The San Antonio Spurs are bringing back a key piece to last year’s NBA Championship run.
ESPN is reporting that the Spurs have agreed to a 3-year, $22 million deal with Boris Diaw to remain in San Antonio. The forward, who is 32, averaged 9.1 points and 4.1 rebounds last season for the Spurs.
Diaw proved his worth in the NBA Finals, as his move into the starting lineup is what seemed to turn the series around. He was inserted in Game 3 and the Spurs went on to win the next three games in convincing fashion. Diaw had 22 points, 23 rebounds and 18 assists over those last three games.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, San Antonio has been given 6/1 odds to win the NBA champions next season. The Miami Heat are listed as the favorites, as they have odds of 7/2 odds.
