Atlanta Hawks DFS Notes
Trae Young hit 10-of-28 shots, three 3-pointers and 13-of-15 free throws for 36 points, four rebounds, nine assists and two steals in 41 minutes as the Hawks eliminated the Knicks 4-1 with a decisive 103-89 win in the Garden on Wednesday. Trae becomes the second player in NBA history to score at least 30 points in three straight games in the Garden in the playoffs (joining Michael Jordan), as he welcomed the role of villain against the New York faithful. Clint Capela backed up his bulletin board material chatter with 14 points, 15 rebounds, a steal and two blocks on 6-of-7 shooting, De’Andre Hunter scored 15 and played solid defense, and John Collins came through with 13 points, seven boards and a block in the win. The Hawks will face the Sixers in Round 2 with Game 1 likely coming on Sunday.
Philadelphia 76ers DFS Notes
Joel Embiid (small meniscus tear, right knee) “did what he could do” in Saturday’s practice according to Doc Rivers. Embiid still hasn’t been able to fully participate in practice for the 76ers, who open their second round series against the Hawks on Sunday. He’s considered to be day-to-day, but it’s difficult to envision a scenario in which he’s cleared to play in Game 1. Dwight Howard becomes a player of greater importance with Embiid sidelined, and there may also be times in which the 76ers turn to Mike Scott as part of a smaller lineup.
