Thibodeau not interested in Pelicans
CHICAGO, IL (The Spread) – After he was fired by the Bulls on Thursday, reports have surfaced that Tom Thibodeau doesn’t have interested in coaching the Pelicans.
Along with the Pelicans, Peter Vecsey tweeted on Friday that Thibodeau doesn’t have interest in coaching the Nuggets or Magic either. Thibodeau reportedly believes that Anthony Davis will eventually leave the Pelicans, making that job far less enticing down the road.
Via Bulls sources, Dan Bernstein reported that at least three starters ripped Thibodeau in an exit interview, saying they’d avoid the team facility this summer if he were still Chicago’s coach. There have been reports that suggest Thibodeau had problems communicating with not only his players but the front office as well.
Bulls’ GM Gar Forman stated during Thursday’s press conference that the team will begin their search for a new head coach in a process that will carry into the weekend. Iowa State head coach Fred Hoiberg is expected to be the frontrunner for the position.
