Utah Jazz DFS Notes
Mike Conley torched his former team with 20 points, four rebounds, 15 assists and three 3-pointers on 8-of-16 shooting in 37 minutes of Wednesday’s 141-129 win over the Grizzlies. Conley’s 15 assists tied his career high and while the Jazz gave up a 22-point lead in the third quarter to allow the Grizzlies to cut it to two points, the Jazz were able to pull away in the fourth quarter. And you have to think Conley loved doing this against his former team. Rudy Gobert also double-doubled with 21 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks, but the Jazz might want to think about playing better defense the rest of the way. This was a very high-scoring game and it looked like it could go either way at the end of the third quarter. The Jazz now head to Memphis in hopes of winning one or two games and re-taking homecourt advantage in this series.
Memphis Grizzlies DFS Notes
Ja Morant hit 15-of-26 shots, two 3-pointers and 15-of-20 free throws for a career-high 47 points, four rebounds, seven assists and four turnovers in 43 minutes of Wednesday’s 141-129 loss to the Jazz to even the series at 1-1. Morant is already the Grizzlies’ franchise leader for points scored in any game (including the playoffs), passing Mike Miller’s 45-point record. True to fantasy form, he didn’t have a steal or a block and the Grizzlies weren’t close in the end, but he led a furious 22-point comeback to make it a game in the fourth quarter and showed all the tools as to why he still has a chance to be a fantasy beast in the near future. All five Grizzlies starters scored in double figures tonight as Dillon Brooks had 23 on 10-of-14 shooting, Jonas Valanciunas had 18, Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 16 and Kyle Anderson had 11 in the loss. Morant trails only George Mikan for the player to score the most points in his first two playoff games (75 to 73), and the series will head to Memphis for two games where they’ll try to maintain homecourt advantage. They could use some better defense in order for it to happen.
