Dallas Mavericks DFS Notes
Luka Doncic recorded a line of 31 points (11-of-24 FGs, 4-of-7 FTs), 10 rebounds, 11 assists, one steal, two blocks and five 3-pointers in 41 minutes during Saturday’s win over the Clippers. Dallas opened its first-round series with a win thanks in large part to Doncic, who was by far the best player on the court. And that shouldn’t come as a surprise, given what he did to the Clippers in last year’s first-round series. While L.A. did win that series in six games, Luka scored 28 or more in four of those contests. That being said, Doncic didn’t do all of the heavy lifting by himself. Tim Hardaway Jr. (21/4/1 with five 3-pointers), Dorian Finney-Smith (18/5/2/1 with four 3-pointers) and Jalen Brunson (15/1/2) combined to score 54 points, with Hardaway Jr. and DFS combining to shoot 9-of-14 from beyond the arc. Doncic and co. will look to extend their series lead to 2-0 Tuesday night.
Los Angeles Clippers DFS Notes
Kawhi Leonard finished Saturday’s loss to the Mavericks with a line of 26 points (9-of-22 FGs, 7-of-9 FTs), 10 rebounds, five assists, four steals and one 3-pointer in 41 minutes. Leonard managed to lead the Clippers in scoring, but he didn’t have his best day shooting the basketball. But the same can be said for Paul George, who was 8-of-18 and finished with 23 points, six rebounds, five assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 40 minutes. The Clippers’ two starts combined to shoot 17-of-40 from the field overall, and 3-of-14 from beyond the arc. And with the Clippers not getting any more than 11 points from the “supporting cast,” Leonard and George shooting that poorly isn’t enough to get the job done. They’ll look to rebound in Game 2 Tuesday night.
Mavericks vs. Clippers Game 2 Playoffs Prediction
The under is 5-0 in the last five meetings between these two teams and is 4-0 in the Mavericks’ last four games versus an opponent with a winning record. On the other side, the under is 6-0-1 in the Clippers’ last seven home games, is 5-0 1in their last six games as a home favorite and is 6-0 in their last six games playing on two days of rest.
