Dallas Mavericks DFS Notes
Luka Doncic was held in check vs. the Warriors in Wednesday’s Game 1 with 20 points (6-of-18 FGs), seven rebounds, four assists, one steal and three triples. According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Golden State’s plan on defense isn’t to overload on Luka Doncic but to “cut off the others” instead. We saw that in Rounds 1 and 2, with Nikola Jokic averaging 31.0 points vs. GSW and Ja Morant averaging 38.3. Luka got off to a decent start in this one but Andrew Wiggins had his number this evening with some terrific defense. Look for the Mavs to try and do a better job getting Luka switched onto Steph Curry and Jordan Poole when he’s in attack mode in Game 2.
Golden State Warriors DFS Notes
Stephen Curry scored 21 points (7-of-16 FGs, 4-of-7 FTs) with 12 rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and three triples in Wednesday’s blowout Game 1 win over Dallas. This will be a brutal matchup for Curry and it showed early tonight, as the Mavs will throw double teams at him and force the ball out of his hands as much as possible. During the regular season, Curry averaged just 20.0 points in four games vs. Dallas while shooting 38% from the field and 29% from the line. He certainly seemed uncomfortable in the first quarter tonight, but he gradually got himself going and got a big lift from his teammates as well.
