LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The top two seeds are all that remain in the East. Here is a look at the odds for the Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers to win the NBA Eastern Conference Finals.
Atlanta is the top seed in the East. The Hawks are 68-26 on the season and 55-37 against the spread. Cleveland is the second seed in the East. The Cavs are 61-31 overall and 44-48 against the spread. Cleveland defeated Boston in four games to start the playoffs and then beat Chicago in six games. Atlanta defeated Brooklyn in six games before disposing of Washington in six games. The Hawks will have the home-court advantage in this best-of-seven series.
According to oddsmakers at online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cavaliers are the favorite to win this series, as Cleveland is getting odds of -230 to win, while the Hawks are getting a money line of +195 to prevail. Game 1 of this series will take place on Wednesday at 8:30PM ET.
These two teams met four times during the regular season, and Atlanta won and covered the spread in three of the four games. The Hawks were the lone team to get a road win in the four games. Dating back to further history, Atlanta has won eight of its last 10 against Cleveland and the two have hit the over in six of their last seven encounters. Both have lost key players since their last meeting as Kevin Love is out with a shoulder injury for Cleveland while Thabo Sefolosha has a season-ending leg injury for the Hawks.
