Kevin Love injuries his shoulder
CLEVELAND, OH (TheSpread) – The Cleveland Cavaliers have advanced to the second round of the NBA Playoffs, but their efforts came with a price in Game 4.
During Game 4 of the Cavaliers’ series with the Boston Celtics, Cleveland disposed of the Celtics, 101-93. However, during the game Kevin Love suffered a dislocated shoulder during an altercation with Kelly Olynyk. The Cavs have said Love will undergo examination but there is fear he could miss weeks of play. In the same game, J.R. Smith was ejected after striking Boston’s Jae Crowder in the face. He could now be facing a suspension heading into the opening game of their next series.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Cavaliers are currently listed with 11/5 odds to win the NBA Finals. Golden State is the favorite to win the NBA Finals, as it has 3/2 odds, while San Antonio has 8/1 odds.
Love has had his struggles in his first year in Cleveland, but he is still averaging 16.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game on the season. Thus far in the playoffs he was posting 18.3 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists per game for the Cavaliers. J.R. Smith has been averaging 10.3 points, 2.3 steals and 4.3 rebounds per game this postseason.
