The Clippers picked up a big 111-106 win in Game 3 on Friday night in Utah. However, the loss came with a price as Blake Griffin suffered a toe injury that will sideline him for the rest of the playoffs. Still, the Clippers have a 2-1 edge in the series right now. L.A. is 53-32 overall, 30-13 at home and 41-43-1 against the spread. Utah is now 52-33 overall, 23-20 on the road and 38-43-4 against the spread.
Los Angeles rallied in Game 3 to get the win, even without Griffin, who went down after 18 minutes of action. Chris Paul had his best game of the series, putting up 34 points with 10 assists and seven rebounds. DeAndre Jordan picked up his play when Griffin went down as he had 17 points and 13 rebounds. Utah was led by Greg Hayward, who had 40 points and eight rebounds while George Hill had 26 points.
The Clippers suffered a big blow with the loss of Blake Griffin, but the Jazz continue to be without Rudy Gobert in the middle as well. Los Angeles was able to rally without Griffin in Game 3, thanks to the play of Chris Paul. I am not sure Paul can put up the same effort in Game 4. Utah will be playing desperate and I think they find a way to win and cover tonight. Paul doesn’t have much bench support at his position, so his legs could get tired down the stretch.
