(The Spread) – The top two teams in the Eastern Conference, the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat, rebounded from slow starts to win their NBA postseason openers. What will transpire tonight as both hit the court in their respective Game 2’s?
The Chicago Bulls trailed for 47 of their 48 minutes Saturday afternoon against the visiting Indiana Pacers in Game 1. But with a timely late 3-pointer by Kyle Korver and 39 total points from MVP candidate Derrick Rose, Chicago recovered to win 104-99.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com, the Bulls are 12-point favorites for Game 2 Monday night at 9:35 PM EST on TNT. The over-under is 191.5.
According to the latest NBA trends, Chicago is 8-5 against the spread and 9-4 straight up versus Indiana over the last three seasons. Seven of 13 games in this series have gone over the total during the last three seasons.
Rose led the Bulls this season by averaging 25 points per game and 7.7 assists. Leading the Pacers was Danny Granger, who put in 20.5 points per contest.
The first game of the NBA Playoffs doubleheader involves the second-seeded Miami Heat, who will entertain the Philadelphia 76ers at 7:05PM EST. The Heat are 9.5-point favorites and the over-under is 189.5.
Miami put together a horrible first quarter in the opener, but rebounded over the ensuing two quarters Saturday to hold off Philadelphia by a count of 97-89.
According to the latest public betting information, 51 percent of bets have so far been placed on the Philadelphia 76ers.
