Kings packing it in
Sacramento has lost two straight coming into tonight and five of their last seven games. That includes a 133-129 loss at home to New Orleans on Sunday. The Kings are 39-42 on the season, 15-25 on the road, 45-35-1 against the spread and 40-40-1 with the over/under total.
The Kings are putting up 114 points per game this season while shooting 46.3 percent from the field. Defensively, Sacramento is giving up 115 points per game while opponents shoot 46.5 percent against them. Buddy Hield has been leading the team with 20.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. De’Aaron Fox is adding 17.3 points and 7.3 assists per contest.
Blazers contending for 3 spot
Portland is coming off a 104-101 win at the Lakers last night for their fourth win in five games. However, they have failed to cover the spread in three straight. The Blazers are now 52-29 on the season, 31-9 at home, 44-36-1 against the spread and 42-37-2 with the over. The Blazers are currently fourth in the West, which is the worst they can finish. If they win tonight and the Nuggets beat Minnesota, Portland will move up to the 3 seed and Houston will fall to the fourth.
The Blazers are putting up 114.4 points per game on offense while shooting 46.6 percent from the floor. Defensively, Portland is giving up 110.2 points per game while opponents shoot 45.6 percent from the field. Damian Lillard is leading the team with 25.8 points and 6.9 assists per game while CJ McCollum is adding 21 points per game.
NBA Betting Trends
Sacramento
The Kings are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games when playing on two days of rest and 12-5-1 ATS in their last 18 games following a failed cover.
Portland
The Blazers are 8-1 against the spread in their last nine Wednesday games, but just 1-3-1 ATS in their last five home games.
Prediction:
These two have been competitive with each other this season. The Kings won and covered in the most recent meeting and lost in OT in the other clash. Portland is coming off a grind of a game last night against a poor Lakers team, but they haven’t really been doing a great job of covering the spread. Sacramento is a team that can score points and I think the Kings still are going to play with a little fire tonight as they are a young team that took some positive strides this season. They would still like to end their season with a little momentum. I think this game should be more competitive than Portland would like.
NBA Prediction: Sacramento Kings +8.5
